Quick and Easy Recipes Including Restaurant Secrets

By Brad On December 12, 2009 No Comments

Quick and easy recipes does not always mean unhealthy. Everything can be healthy including those secret recipes in many of the popular restaurants, with the right combination of ingredients and knowing how to prepare them. A problem with quick and easy recipes is that we often substitute processed products for the fresh ones. This is so we can prepare our meals faster. We go to bottled and canned ingredients just to keep up with the time element of preparing and cooking the meals. Some manufacturers claim that there are no preservatives added to their products. Make these product lines your priority when doing your weekly groceries. Using fresh ingredients is certainly one way of ensuring that the food is healthy.

Another way is convert an existing recipe into something healthier. Learn to substitute unhealthy ingredients with healthier ones. If the recipe uses noodles, choose to use wheat noodles. Replace meat with high grade meat varieties that contain less fat. The substitution can even be quite drastic. You can go with the vegetables you like instead of sticking with what the recipe tells you.

Many restaurants can still prepare healthy meals fast. America’s Secret Recipes shows you how to cook foods such as KFC chicken, but without the excess fat and preservatives. Meals that taste just like the famous restaurants usually pleases everyone in the family, but they are not always considered healthy. Ron Douglas shows you how to cook the restaurant secret recipes with the cooking techniques of world class chefs.

You can also learn to reduce the amounts of the unhealthy ingredients of the meal you are preparing. Salt if used too much can be bad for you for example. Just keep the salt to a minimum, don’t go adding excessive amounts to what you’re cooking. The same applies with cheese, butter, cream, and sugar. The taste will be affected slightly, but you will appreciate the natural tastes of the other ingredients during your meal.

There will always be some healthy options that you can use to prepare your meals. The kitchen and the recipe book should not tie you down with convention. Sure there are standards, but learn to think and experiment with your cooking. Using different ways to cook your meals can produce surprising results and be quite satisfying.

Quick and easy recipes don’t have to be unhealthy and if you would like to add a little difference with some of America’s restaurant favorites, the Ron Douglas secret recipes are sure to please everyone’s taste buds.

Some Italian Food Recipes

By Brad On December 12, 2009 No Comments

If cooking burgers and barbecues, sunny-side ups and omelet, try cooking Italian food and you will find a fast portal to cooking with stress. Cooking Italian food is hard even with a recipe to guide you on your way.

Recipes of Italian food may contain a lot of words that you will not be able to find in ordinary
dictionary. This is perhaps because Italian food is often being cooked by those who already have the experience in cooking.

But still, who’s stopping you from trying out the different recipes that you will find in an Italian
cook book? Who knows, you might even master one dish and another through practice.

In cook book every thing about the food is given which makes easier. A guide will tell everything about the Italian dish. All you need to do is prepare the ingredients and follow the cooking procedures to the letter. But this is of course easier said than done. These lessons will lessen the hard things of cooking
Italian food.

Buy a good recipe book A lot of the procedures involved in Italian cooking is sometimes very hard to comprehend in words. To go with Italian food real time demos will help. Unfortunately, you don’t have a real chef in front of you. All you have is a recipe book.

If this is the case, which is often are, then buy a recipe book that will at least explain the very basic procedures that you will encounter in Italian cooking. Some recipe books have a section that explains all that. Some even have illustrations and pictures of the procedure per dish so that readers will have an idea what it is being done.

Research in TV There are a lot of cooking shows in the market that will help you a lot in improving your skills in cooking Italian food. And with the TV, you will have a first hand demonstration of what is being done with the various ingredients. Even if you are not
actually there with the chef, you can still see what he or she is actually doing.

This will help you a lot in terms of cooking the other dishes that are in the recipe book. Remember, the procedures are actually all basic and are being done in many of the dishes so all you need to do is master each one and you are already good to
go.

Be precise In cooking, whether Italian food or other cuisines, you need to make sure that your measurements are correct and precise. The taste of your dish will depend upon the rightness of the ingredients that you put into it. A small difference in the ingredients can alter the taste. If you add more salt taste become very hard. More flour makes it too much gummy. Too much water will make it bland and thin. And it goes on and on. The flavorings that you put and the amount of the ingredients will factor a lot in the food that you are preparing so be cautious and use those measuring tools.

Tips in cooking corned beef

By Brad On December 12, 2009 No Comments

School is about to start once again and the kids will definitely need a power breakfast to give them the energy that they need to keep up with the home works and projects. One of the breakfast staple that mother love to cook is the corned beef. Corned beef is easy to prepare and what is more, it can be coupled with other ingredients to make it healthier. Corned beef is
in fact the most versatile of dishes that you can find. Here are some ways to cook a different corned beef and also ways in cooking your corned beef so that it will taste even better.

1. Brine your beef for at least two days.

If you want corned beef that is soft, juicy and with the right saltiness to it, you should brine your corned beef for at least two days. When you say brine, this means that you should saturate your corned beef in a bowl of water with salt. This will help put flavor into the beef and set the taste.

2. Use fresh ingredients Although it is a lot easier and faster to use corned beef that came from a can, it is healthier and better tasting to use only the freshest ingredients. Use beef that you purchase from the market and cure the beef yourself. This ensures that what you are letting your kids eat is clean and safe and of course without the chemicals that may cause health problems.

3. Boil your beef for one hour A lot of people swear by to boiling. This locks in the flavor on the inside and also ensures that the meat is soft and chewy as opposed to as hard as rock. Cooking it will also be a lot easier as you don’t have to worry about softening the meat while frying or apply meat tenderizers to soften it a little more.

4. Put a different ingredient It is always good to experiment with taste and texture. Once you have mastered the art of coking corned beef, you already have a license to play with the ingredients to suit your taste. Add you favourite things to this but taste it before serving.

Your kids will also welcome a different kind of corned beef because for sure, they are already fed up with the same old corned beef that you have been serving at breakfast and at dinner. If you have the time, you can even serve a different corned beef in the morning and then a different one at dinner. All you need to do is to add some ingredients into it.

5. put some sauce Although corned beef is served often as dry flakes, you can always flout convention and put some sauce into it. This will make your corned beef less dry and more juicy. Put some tomato sauce and soy sauce and then just rely on the natural juiciness of the corned beef to add to the flavor.

6. Add some veggies The standard corned beef is often cooked with onion rings but there are some corned beef dishes that are cooked with potatoes. You can also add some pineapple or even tofu. It is actually all up to you. As mentioned before, cooking corned beef is a breeze and you don’t really have to exert much effort. All you need is just a little imagination.

Organic Food Recipes- Should We Use It?

By Brad On November 21, 2009 No Comments

Undoubtedly, organic food is essential element of nutrition health. A lot of peoples are looking for organic food recipes for their health nutrition and even Atkins Diet plan. Why is it that?
Organic food recipes are trendy; it seems really cool to say that you cook something organic than to say that you just cook. Magazines and Internet sites have started all the buzz about healthy cooking that is now emphasized by organic food recipes. The only secret about such recipes and the most important aspect of all is the fact that only organic ingredients are used during the preparation. The meat, vegetables, fats and even spices will be produced according to natural agricultural concepts and will be purchased from special shops that deal in organic food. Yes, the food will be tastier and richer in nutrients, but you simply apply the basic cooking rules but using organic ingredients only.

Therefore, try to reason for a second and you’ll realize that all recipes can become organic food recipes if you use the right ingredients. If the same traditional cookery materials are necessary, there is no need to spend money on organic cookery books. However, we ought to do justice to the web sites and the cooking guides that devote special sections or chapters to tips and suggestions for healthy cooking. The organic nature of the ingredients is not everything, and the food will be delicious from one end to the other if you know how to maximize the nutritive value of the products.

Thus, you should always remember that vegetables and legumes lose vitamins and minerals through boiling, therefore try to cook them as little as possible depending on the dish you make. Only certain food recipes allow semi-cooking for instance. Then, the eggs, meat and dairy products should be processed in a certain way to stay safe and healthy, but it also depends on the type of organic food recipes you choose to cook. Do pay attention to those suggestions referring to ways to make meat more tender or tastier. The natural flavor of food is higher when you choose something organic.

Once you decide to cook mainly organic food recipes, you’ll have to go get supplies at least once or twice a week. Local markets are usually the best place to shop for fresh quality products, because in such locations, it is likely that you will find almost everything necessary for cooking organic food recipes. From meat and greens to eggs and dairies, there is everything available. It is unlikely to find spices, sugar and oil at the market, and the best idea here is to try at the nearest supermarkets. May you enjoy your meals!

How Long Does It Take To Cook A Steak In The Oven Is It Difficult?

By Brad On November 21, 2009 No Comments

So you have asked the infamous question How long does it take to cook a steak in the oven? Well let’s seen if we can help.

If you’re going to cook your steak in the oven then I would seriously suggest that you broil it. I like my steak broiled is there any other way? It’s so juicy and tender. Of course only if you don’t over cook it. To me there really is no other way. Broiled steak is delicious.

Set and pre heat your oven to the broil setting and while you are waiting for your oven to preheat rub your steaks with olive oil, salt and fresh ground pepper. Depending upon the cut of meat you have purchased if it is a less expensive cut of meat you may want to consider using a different seasoning other than salt such as an Adolph’s meat tenderizer. It tends to darken the meat some but it does give it the same flavor as salt. If you have a good cut of beef then a nice kosher salt will do just fine.

Different size steaks will require different broiling times. Depending upon whether you like your steak raw, medium or well done also plays a role in the cooking process. Whether or not you are cooking one steak or many may also make a difference when broiling your steaks in the oven. Keep in mind that your cooking times may slightly vary due to this.

The following are recommended cooking times but keep in mind the different variables that may affect cooking times. If your steak is 3/4 of an inch inch thick and you want your steak medium rare then I would suggest 4-5 minutes per side and if you have a meat thermometer the meat should reach 145 degrees. For a Medium steak 6-7 minutes per side and the meat should reach a temperature of 160 degrees. Perhaps the simplest way to determine when your meat is ready is through the use of a meat thermometer. Most people don’t have a meat thermometer and tend to cut their steak open to see if it is done. It’s probably not a good idea to do it this way as the juices will run out. Taylor Digital Instant-Read Pocket Thermometer

After the steak is done let it stand for 5 minutes this lets the juices flow through your meat from the top down to the bottom making it juicy and flavorful. Serve with a baked potato and vegetables or your favorite sides. Steaks go great with just about anything depending upon what you have in your kitchen. Steaks and fries are also a good combo. Finding a nice vegetable recipe to go with your steak shouldn’t be very difficult. Have Fun!

Thanksgiving Dinner Recipes – A Simple Guide

By Brad On October 14, 2009 No Comments

Thanksgiving features food.  Hard work in a new world led to success and to this celebration.  Every year it’s a traditional meal.  The table is jammed with turkey, stuffing and all the trimmings.  It’s a time when families get together to celebrate history.  But just like the colors of the leaves, Thanksgiving dinner recipes can be an amazing variety.

How about this Thanksgiving dinner recipe for a delicious appetizer? It’s a pretty simple Pumpkin soup.  Add butter and oil to a pan over medium heat. Add three sliced leeks (only the white) and saute until the leeks are soft. Pumpkin puree, cloves, cinnamon, ginger, and salt join the party.  Stir that until well mixed, then pour in 32 ounces of vegetable broth. Next comes brown sugar.  Use low heat to simmer it for 10 minutes. Cream or half and half are optional, along with a pinch of cinnamon on top of each bowl.  Mmmm boy that’s delicious.

For the main course try frying the turkey instead of broiling it. Don’t worry, fried turkey isn’t greasy. The oil is so hot it sears the skin, thus the oil can’t penetrate it. For this task a big oil pot and propane burner are used. Turkey fryers can be found in stores like Walmart. A meat thermometer is also needed, along with a deep fry thermometer to check the oil for the correct temperature. Make sure to fry outside in a clear area. Heat the oil to between 325 degrees and 350 degrees F. The turkey takes about three minutes per pound to fry to about 170 degrees F in the breast. It’s common to inject spices into the turkey during frying, but the dressing is usually not fried along with the turkey.

For some other Thanksgiving dinner recipes for soup, try curried pumpkin apple soup, butternut squash soup, or pumpkin and sausage soup. But there are other good appetizers for the meal. Try something different like cheese wrapped asparagus. Use two cheeses, one spread and one sliced. One idea is swiss cheese slices with a softer blue cheese spread. Spread the soft cheese on the slices, wrap it around a few asparagus spears, then cook in a 230 degree C oven for about 15 minutes, or until the asparagus is soft. Sure wrapping cheese around asparagus turns a pretty healthy food into something a little more fattening. But Thanksgiving isn’t a time for a diet. Live a little!

Instructions To Prepare Chocolate Easter Eggs

By Brad On October 14, 2009 No Comments

Sure you could just run out to the store and get your plastic Easter eggs and chocolate Easter eggs, but if you really want to put your all into the Easter holiday and do it yourself, then it is really going to mean a lot. The chocolate Easter eggs are very much popular among the recipes and some others are also delectable.

If you want to try making your own chocolate Easter eggs for once, here is a great, easy recipe that you can make.

The Recipe For Chocolate Easter Eggs

For this chocolate Easter eggs recipe you will need ¼ lb. butter softened, 8 oz. cream cheese softened, 2 lb. confectioners’ sugar, 1 ½ cups peanut butter, 1 ½ tsp vanilla, ½ tsp salt, and 12 oz. milk chocolate candy melts.

Now to prepare this recipe, you want to start by mixing the butter and the cream cheese together. Then you add the confectioners’ sugar and mix well. You want to keep mixing until you can no longer see any powder residue.

The next step in this recipe is to add in the peanut butter, vanilla, and salt and then mix this. Then you want to put this mixture into the refrigerator for about an hour, closer to two would be even better. Then when the dough is hard enough you want to form it into egg shapes, and then refrigerate these for an hour.

You must make sure that you are refrigerating long enough each time, otherwise the oil from the peanut butter is going to make the dough too mushy and you will not be able to form it properly.

Now to finish off the chocolate Easter eggs you want to melt the chocolate that you have ready in a double broiler, dip each peanut butter egg in the chocolate, and then let them sit to dry on waxed paper. You are really going to love these eggs, and your kids are going to love them even more.

They are very easy to make and the best part is that you can save the extras and keep them for later on in the week. They are a great treat to make for your kids for Easter and they are sure to become a staple in the home. Just remember there are lots of varieties that you can try out as well if you are not a fan of the peanut butter and chocolate, for instance you could make them with caramel.
